Oil, water, air hardening
Several programmable batch furnaces also enable us to harden and temper or anneal almost all steels.
In order to avoid a hardening distortion or cracking, a low quenching agent is used, e. g., oil (“oil-hardening steels, low-alloy steels), water (“water-hardening steels”, carbon steels) or air (“air-hardening steels”, high-alloy steels).
